Someone (David, but which one?) said recently that only women name their cars, can this be so?

Hi my name is Pearl and I’ve recently moved from the sleepy outer burbs where I carried a family of 4 from A to B and then back to A. I had a routine a sheltered shed to sleep in and received regular TLC from Mr Mechanic.

THEN,

I was replaced by a new Nissan Pathfinder, with a big fat bum and suddenly I was sleeping out in the cold night air and I no longer got to go from A to B and back to A again. Sob. Sob…

Off to market I went. I waited and waited and waited and waited some more…then two fine ladies caught my eye.

On the first date, they thought I was a bit plain and boring, but I knew they were the one for me. I don’t have any buttons to dazzle, no shinny new paint, or fancy 4×4 add-ons, I’m even a bit small in the old go go juice department, I can’t help being a 2.8L..its the way I was born! But I’m still young, and have alot to give.

On the second date I didn’t complain when Emily wound the window up, then down, then up, then down, then Carole finally said “please stop that. ..now”. Or, when Carole was insisting on changing me into 5th gear at 50kmp/hr…I shuddered and chocked, but keep the motor going.

I always started when they asked and stopped when they requested, I was quiet and I didn’t squeak when they turned me around corner after corner. I knew they were warming to me, so on the 3rd date I played them a special tune that only they would know, love and sing along to… ‘Star Trekking Across the universe, always going forward and never in reverse’

Carole signed the papers while Emily eyed off the biggest hot cross buns ever!

Then they ripped my seats out…but that’s another story.
